FIS Cross-Country Skiing: The Snowy Revolution Has Begun

Pakistan is famous for towering peaks, legendary glaciers, and dramatic mountain landscapes — but now, it’s carving out a new identity on the global stage: a rising hub for FIS-certified cross-country skiing. The Land of the Karakoram is quickly transforming into a destination where world-class athletes glide through pristine snow, high-altitude valleys echo with cheers, and winter adventure is no longer a dream — it’s a movement.

Winter sports in Pakistan started long before most people realized. Back in 1958. Fast-forward to 1990, the Winter Sports Federation Pakistan (WSFP) was formed — bringing structure, vision, and global recognition to the country’s winter ambitions. Today, WSFP is proudly affiliated with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), opening the gates for international competitions on Pakistani snow.
